Pastor Johen and First Lady Argretta

Reverend Henrette (Henry) Johen

Pastor

Greater Grace Christian Church

Youngsville, North Carolina

Reverend Johen felt the call of God on his life at the early age of nine and formally acknowledged that call at the age of twenty-three. He holds firmly to the scripture echoed in 2 Timothy 2:15 which states, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” His pursuit of excellence in theological studies has enabled him to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Divinity from Campbell University, Master of Divinity Degree from Virginia Union Theological Seminary and to work on a Master of Theology at Liberty University.
In 1989, Reverend Johen accepted his calling into the ministry at Maple Temple UCC under the late Rev M.C. Steed. He was the former pastor of St. Paul UCC in Middleburg where he served for 10 years. Pastor Johen currently is the pastor and founder of Greater Grace Christian Church in Youngsville, NC. He is married to Argretta and they have been blessed with two children Kiara and Isaiah. His ministry uniquely promotes reconciliation, redemption and the love of Christ. He believes a Christ-centered church will produce the fruit and spiritual gifts required to change and transform lives. His philosophical-theological approach has strengthened and encouraged the faith of people that have the heart of God; therefore, enabling him to have a heart for the people of God.  This anointed preacher and teacher echoes Paul’s statement in Philippians 4:13 which states, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
